Long ago a butterfly lived in a cage inside a humble cottage. Although the butterfly loved the old man who cared for it since it was a caterpillar, the butterfly wished to be free. Every day the same things happened. The old man came in at sunset and talked to the butterfly about what happened during the day and what they would do tomorrow. Each night before bed the old man placed his pipe on the table next to the cage, leaned his pocket watch against the bars of the cage, and opened the window.
